Gareth Mitchell is a lecturer at Imperial College and  the presenter of BBC World Service’s Digital Planet. Starting out as a broadcast engineer, he traded climbing TV transmitter masts for science and technology journalism about 10 years ago. His first presenting role was for the youth science programme The Lab.. He became a regular voice on Science in Action and then Go Digital.
